New City Agenda’s Inaugural Lecture:
Culture and Banking Standards

Wednesday 14th May, 13.00-14.30, Committee Room 10, House of Commons
with Sir Richard Lambert, Head of the UK Banking Standards Review and former Director-General of CBI.

This Inaugural Lecture will give parliamentarians and guests the opportunity to appreciate how Sir Richard’s proposed new organisation seeks to raise standards in banking following the recommendations of the Parliamentary Commission on Banking Standards.

New City Agenda’s Culture and Banking Standards Project will specifically consider:

1. The drivers of culture within banks.

2. How banks (and the FCA) measure culture, drive positive change and assess progress towards embedding a new culture within the organisation.

3. How the cultural approach in banking compares with other sectors and what lessons can be learned from elsewhere.

Sir Richard’s Banking Standards Review is poised to set the template for a new approach to culture and standards in the industry. This is a unique opportunity for us to engage with him on what changes are essential in order to restore trust and confidence in the banking industry.
